FOR: The Double Pump Spring Tournament Series is for boys club and school teams 12 and Under through 17 and Under. Since this is an open tournament, there are no roster restrictions for this event. Each level features one division only. There are no separate divisions for club and school teams. Current seniors are eligible for these tournaments as long as they are "unsigned" and still recruitable. Note: Players are eligible to play on multiple teams as long as the teams are not in the same division (i.e. a player participating in the 12 and Under Division can play on a 13 and Under team, but cannot play on two teams in the 12 and Under Division).
WHEN: April 12-14 and May 3-5, 2013. Friday game times will be between 4:45 pm and 10:00 pm. Saturday game times will be between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. Sunday game times will be between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Note: All special requests (for specific game times) must be made in writing at the time of registration.
WHERE: Games will be played at the six-court Gold Crown Field House, Colorado’s premier basketball facility. Additional sites will be used as needed. The Gold Crown Field House is also available for Spring Hoops Classic teams to practice. The rate is $35 per hour for weekdays or weekends. Gym time rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis. FORMAT: All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of four games using a pool play and playoff format. Depending on bracket size, teams who win their first playoff game could play additional games. Game schedules will be available on the Gold Crown website on Monday, April 8.
GAME RULES: The 15 and Under through 17 and Under divisions will feature two 16-minute stop clock halves for all games. The 12 and Under through 14 and Under division games will consist of two 20-minute running halves with the clock stopping on all dead balls the last two minutes of the first and second half. A further explanation of the rules will be available on our website prior to the tournament.
OFFICIALS & SCOREKEEPING: Mile High Officials will assign all games for both tournaments. Two officials will be used for all games, with the exception of the 17 and Under championship games in which three officials will be used. Paid scorekeepers will be provided for all games.
TEAM INFO: All coaches and teams must submit the following information prior to the tournament: Team Roster, Coach’s Background Check and Code of Ethics, and Parent/Participant Waiver Forms.
AWARDS: First and second place individual prizes will be awarded in all boys and girls divisions.
REGISTRATION: Limited openings still remain for the April 12-14 tournamnet. We will take registrations through Tuesday, April 2nd. The registration fee is $350 per team. A $150 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. There will be a $5 per day entry fee for any spectators 18 years or older. Children 17-under will be free. All gate-fee proceeds will go to the CCBA Scholarship Fund.
The registration deadline for the May 3-5 tournament is Wednesday, April 24.. The registration fee is $350 per team. Teams that participated in the April 12-14 tournament will receive a $25 discount on their registration fee. There will be a $5 per day entry fee for any spectators 18 years or older. Children 17-under will be free. All gate-fee proceeds will go to the CCBA Scholarship Fund.
Due to demand, early registration is encouraged to ensure a spot in the tournaments.
