NOTE: We will split the Gold Crown Field House and host the two girls sessions separately.

*Early drop-off is available for Coed Campers; extra fee applies.

Enrichment Camps



ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FOR A FULL DAY OF FUN!

**Enrichment Camps are offered during both the Boys Week and Girls Week.  Each is an additional fee of $125 for the week.


Artful Adventures: Grades 2 - 4; 1:00 - 4:00 PM

Artful Adventures will explore the Art of storytelling as you learn bookmaking, character design, painting and collage techniques to tell your story.  Create your own heroes and have them come to life in a pop-up book, 3-D shadow box, or a 3-D clay sculpture.  Silly stories, comics and poetry adventures will never be the same!

Digital Sports Videos: Grades 5 - 8; 9:00 AM - Noon

Gold Crown Sports Center Camp will give you the chance to create your own Hanzlik Camp highlight video starring...YOU!  You'll learn to shoot video, add music or commentary, create special effects and edit footage.  Add you own top ten highlights featuring your favorite athlete and you'll take home an original keepsake DVD!

CAMP FEATURES

  • Each camper receives a Bill Hanzlik Basketball Camp T-shirt the first day of camp.
  • Coaches place players on teams based on height and ability to help balance competition.
  • Campers can win prizes including T-shirts, hats and school supplies. Each camper will win at least one prize during the week from our prize closet.
  • Campers may participate in our voluntary "Free Throw Pledge Contest" and shoot free throws, collect pledges and win prizes. Proceeds help others through the Gold Crown Foundation.

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fee is for the early coed sessions is $125 per camper. Registration for the afternoon and evening sessions are $150 per camper. Space is limited and all sessions typically sell out prior to camp starting, so register now to reserve your spot!
Cancellation: If, for whatever reason, you register and need to cancel, you will received a refund of your registration fees minus $15 for processing.

  

 

CAMP FORMAT: ACTION!


The daily schedule will be fast paced with approximately one hour of fundamentals and drills, 30 minutes of contests for prizes and 90 minutes of games in a league format, with a short break each day. Be ready to play and to keep moving!

 

TOP QUALITY COACHING STAFF


Our staff consists of great varsity-level high school coaches and varsity-level college players. We have a great coach-to-camper ratio of one coach for each eight campers. Our staff has over 250 years of combined coaching and playing experience at or above the high school varsity level!

 

CAMP LOCATION


All camps are held at the new Gold Crown Field House, located at 150 S. Harlan St. in Lakewood. This great air-conditioned facility has 28 retractable basketball hoops and a performance wood floor big enough for 11 full-court camp games at once!

 

BILL HANZLIK


Bill Hanzlik has enjoyed a long and successful career in basketball. After a standout career at Notre Dame, which included an appearance in the 1978 NCAA Final Four, Hanzlik was a No. 1 draft pick of the Seattle SuperSonics, who would later trade him to Denver. Prior to entering the NBA, he was a member of the 1980 U.S. Men's Olympic team. In his nine seasons with the Nuggets he made the NBA Playoffs seven times and won the Midwest Division Championship twice. After retiring as a player in 1991, Hanzlik became an Assistant Coach with the Charlotte Hornets and the Atlanta Hawks before serving as the Nuggets' Head Coach in 1997-98. He now serves as the full-time Co-Founder and CEO of the Gold Crown Foundation in Denver and an analyst for Denver Nuggets TV broadcasts. He was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 for his playing career and contributions to the Colorado sports community.
