S\u00ed, existe. Y cada vez lo vemos m\u00e1s en los deportes juveniles, en gran parte debido al hecho de que los programas de los clubes exigen a sus atletas que entrenen durante todo el a\u00f1o. A continuaci\u00f3n se presentan algunos signos y factores de riesgo para el s\u00edndrome de sobreentrenamiento y agotamiento, as\u00ed como consejos para ayudar a evitarlo en los atletas j\u00f3venes, gracias a nuestros socios en el Hospital de Ni\u00f1os de Colorado.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>En la sociedad actual, los j\u00f3venes deportistas muy motivados a menudo luchan contra el s\u00edndrome de sobreentrenamiento. Muchos j\u00f3venes atletas llevan el entrenamiento y la competici\u00f3n demasiado lejos.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el burnout o s\u00edndrome de sobreentrenamiento?<\/h3>\n<p>El burnout o s\u00edndrome de sobreentrenamiento se produce cuando el rendimiento de un deportista empeora a pesar de un entrenamiento intenso. Se cree que es el resultado de una multitud de factores, como altos niveles constantes de estr\u00e9s fisiol\u00f3gico o emocional, fatiga, fallo del sistema inmunitario o tiempo de recuperaci\u00f3n insuficiente.<\/p>\n<h4>Los deportistas que experimentan burnout pueden sufrir una serie de cambios psicol\u00f3gicos, fisiol\u00f3gicos u hormonales, entre los que se incluyen:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Disminuci\u00f3n del rendimiento deportivo y\/o escolar<\/li>\n<li>Dolor muscular o articular cr\u00f3nico<\/li>\n<li>Cambios de personalidad o de humor<\/li>\n<li>Frecuencia cardiaca en reposo elevada<\/li>\n<li>Fatiga<\/li>\n<li>Falta de entusiasmo o ambici\u00f3n<\/li>\n<li>Dificultad para completar las rutinas habituales<\/li>\n<li>Cambios en el sue\u00f1o (dormir m\u00e1s o menos de lo habitual)<\/li>\n<li>Disminuci\u00f3n del apetito y\/o p\u00e9rdida de peso<\/li>\n<li>Aumento de lesiones, enfermedades o infecciones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00bfCorre mi hijo riesgo de sobreentrenamiento o agotamiento?<\/h3>\n<h4>Los j\u00f3venes deportistas que desarrollan burnout suelen compartir caracter\u00edsticas o experiencias espec\u00edficas. Estos factores de riesgo incluyen:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Especializaci\u00f3n deportiva temprana: centrarse en un deporte desde una edad temprana.<\/li>\n<li>Practicar un deporte, pero competir en varios equipos durante una temporada<\/li>\n<li>Superposici\u00f3n de temporadas sin intervalos de descanso<\/li>\n<li>Participaci\u00f3n durante todo el a\u00f1o sin \"temporada baja<\/li>\n<li>Personalidad \"tipo A\": ambiciosa, decidida, impulsiva e intensa.<\/li>\n<li>Baja autoestima y altos niveles de ansiedad<\/li>\n<li>Presi\u00f3n de los padres o del entrenador para entrenar y competir a un nivel superior.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00bfC\u00f3mo puedo evitar el sobreentrenamiento y el agotamiento en mi joven atleta?<\/h3>\n<h4>El burnout es evitable y tratable. Reducir la probabilidad de sufrir burnout puede empezar con estas estrategias:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Periodizaci\u00f3n: un proceso de variaci\u00f3n del est\u00edmulo del entrenamiento para promover ganancias de forma f\u00edsica a largo plazo y evitar el sobreentrenamiento. Se tiene en cuenta todo el a\u00f1o y se divide en fases. En cada fase, el entrenamiento hace hincapi\u00e9 en un tipo espec\u00edfico de entrenamiento. Preg\u00fantale por su motivaci\u00f3n para el deporte. \u00bfSigue siendo divertido?<\/li>\n<li>Nutrici\u00f3n, hidrataci\u00f3n y sue\u00f1o adecuados<\/li>\n<li>Limitar el juego en torneos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La Academia Americana de Pediatr\u00eda (AAP) calcula que entre 30 y 50 millones de ni\u00f1os practican deportes juveniles al a\u00f1o. Este espectacular aumento en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os es positivo porque los ni\u00f1os hacen ejercicio y se mantienen en forma.
