The Career Pathways Program provides selected youth the opportunity to focus on a specific area of technology (e.g., web development, 3D design, video production and graphic design), to develop their workforce readiness skills and gain real-world work experience through job shadowing and a paid internship placement. Staff guides the participants through the 9-month program providing college and career guidance. This program is offered free of charge to Gold Crown Clubhouse members and interested young adults, 16-20 years of age.

Meet This Year's Class!
This session of Career Pathways features 33 like-minded teens focusing on environmentalism and sustainability, with a focus on fashion and art. So far this year, they have organized a clothing drive for upcycling in Lakewood and Edgewater, spoke at an Edgewater City Council meeting, organized trash clean-up days at Sloane's Lake, and even appeared on TV! They are a motivated group, committed to societal change.
2026 Participants and Summer Internship Hosts

Recruitment (August - September): Interested teens should apply for the program. An orientation session for the participant plus a parent/guardian is required to attend.
Self Exploration (October - December): Los participantes se embarcan en un viaje de autodescubrimiento, explorando su lugar en el mundo en general. Project Phase (January - April): In the spirit of entrepreneurship, teens are determined to tackle social issues affecting their community and beyond. Previous years included themes such as generational storytelling, mental health, sustainability, and more.
Workforce Development (April - May): Participants fine-tune their workforce skills as they prepare for their summer internships. Activities include creating resumes, mock interviews, best practices in the workplace, headshots, and more.
Paid Summer Internships (June - August): A través de prácticas de verano remuneradas de 120 horas que abarcan diversos sectores, como la sanidad, la tecnología, las artes, la ingeniería, los negocios, el marketing y la política pública, entre otros. El programa Career Pathways ofrece a los jóvenes prácticas de verano remuneradas de 120 horas en áreas de interés como la salud, las artes, la tecnología, el marketing, la arquitectura, la ingeniería, los negocios, la administración sin ánimo de lucro, ¡y mucho más! El éxito de las prácticas de verano comienza con una reunión con el facilitador de Career Pathways para identificar las posibles funciones/responsabilidades de los jóvenes en prácticas. Una vez colocados, los becarios comenzarán a apoyar a la organización y a las empresas anfitrionas con tareas cotidianas y ayudarán a su empleador a alcanzar objetivos más amplios para toda la organización.
