When Gold Crown Foundation was formed 37 years ago, our goal was simple: provide a quality girls basketball camp experience with an emphasis on life skills. With that in mind, we set out on a mission of “educating youth and community through sports and enrichment programs” and ended up creating a non-profit that impacted many more aspects surrounding youth in our community. Today, we are ecstatic to celebrate five major anniversaries of the foundation.
Competitive Basketball League: 30th Anniversary
This league features the widest scope of quality youth basketball competition in Colorado. It is a Colorado tradition when it comes to youth basketball, and often what Gold Crown is most renowned for. From 1993 to 2023, this league has grown from 40 to over 400 teams, with over 120,000 youth athletes participating.
Keli McGregor Field at Coca-Cola All-Star Park: 25th Anniversary
This state-of-the-art ballpark is a model of Coors Field and opened as part of the MLB All-Star Game legacy program in 1998. The field hosts youth baseball games, collegiate games, high school state championships, tournaments, camps, clinics, and youth with disabilities programs.
Gold Crown Field House: 20th Anniversary
The Gold Crown Field House opened in 2003 and welcomes 500,000 youth, parents, coaches, and spectators annually. At 56,000 square feet, this facility plays host to hundreds of events each year. It is estimated that this facility has served over 5 million youth since its opening.
Gold Crown Enrichment: 20th Anniversary
Opening simultaneously with the Gold Crown Field House in 2003, the Gold Crown Enrichment program was created with the intention of providing a creative, accepting environment for teens. Over 15,000 youth have passed through the doors, where we encourage youth to imagine creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.
Clubhouse at Edgewater: 5th Anniversary
Expanding our reach to a new neighborhood and community, the state-of-the-art Clubhouse at Edgewater was built in 2018. From summer camps to robotics club to the Career Pathways program, thousands of teens have discovered a new interest that impacts their future.
We are proud of how far we have come and look forward to where are going. We would never have made it this far without support from our generous donors, participants and community support. Help us keep the tradition alive and turn milestones into opportunities for Colorado youth.
