Assisting Neighborhood Families

Ever since the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, we have been doing our part in providing food assistance for neighborhood families. The Gold Crown Field House is located in a food desert, meaning there is limited access to affordable and nutritious food.

In 2020, we partnered with Jeffco Eats to serve as a storage and distribution center when the Gold Crown Field House was closed down. Beyond that, we provided $40,000 in King Soopers gift certificates to neighborhood families last spring and continued to provide weekly produce and non-perishable items as well. Over 1,200 families received weekly groceries from us in 2020.

By popular demand, we have continued our Food Distribution program into 2021 with weekly Food Distribution days on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (PLEASE NOTE THE NEW TIME). It is first come, first served and we will distribute until we run out. Take a look below at where we are today in terms of meals provided and families served.

This summer, we have put a hold on the Food Distribution Program moving forward. If there comes a time when there is a need once again, we will look at resuming. Keep an eye out for some holiday food drives, more information coming this fall.

This program wouldn't have been possible without the help from our food vendors. Thank you to Jeffco Eats, Jovial Concepts, Meadow Gold Dairies and Royal Crest Dairies for your weekly contributions. Extra hands are always welcome! If you're interested in volunteering, sign up here.
