Serving The Community With Jeffco Eats

We are proud to announce that we helped provide almost 100,000 meals to the Jeffco community over the past three months through our partnership with Jeffco Eats. Now that the Gold Crown Field House is opening back up to programs, we unfortunately can no longer store, sort or pack food for distribution. However, we are confident that we have a friend and partnership for life and look forward to seeing what's next with our two organizations. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who helped make this possible.

As COVID-19 temporarily shut down our country, our city and our programs, the first thought from co-founders Bill Hanzlik and Ray Baker was "what more can Gold Crown do?" While we couldn't be influencing youth on the court and in the classroom, we could still make impact on our community.

In these unprecedented times, families are hit hard. The need for everyday items, such as food, is greater than ever. For the past three weeks, Gold Crown Foundation has partnered with Jeffco Eats, whose mission is to provide Jeffco kids and families with weekend food so that no child goes hungry. With schools being closed for the rest of the year, families are even more in need of meals for their home. Currently, the Gold Crown Field House is serving as a storage and distribution center where bags of food are packed weekly and distributed to families in need. Aside from the families Jeffco Eats serves, we have reached new families through the Gold Crown Enrichment Program and Deane Elementary School.

As long as the need is there, we will continue to work with Jeffco Eats to make sure our community is taken care of. We are all in this together.

    Good morning,
I’m wondering about volunteer opportunities related to the “Gold Crown Field House is serving as a storage and distribution center where bags of food are packed weekly and distributed to families in need. Aside from the families Jeffco Eats serves, we have reached new families through the Gold Crown Enrichment Program and Deane Elementary School.”
I am able to assist with the logistics, labor required for packing, or delivery to the community.
Please advise how I may be able to assist in your very worthy program.
    Much respect,
    Ramon

Thank you for your interest! Right now, we are maxed out on volunteers due to social distancing guidelines. But we will keep your name/email on hand to let you know of future opportunities.
