Gold Crown Foundation to host Healthy Kids Expo in September

The free youth and family event will include interactive stations, key events, and meet & greets

LAKEWOOD, CO (August 24, 2022) — As part of the Gold Crown Health Huddle, which launched in 2019, the Gold Crown Foundation (GCF) will host its first Healthy Kids Expo on September 10 at the Gold Crown Field House in Lakewood, Colo. This event, targeted to youth and families, will include several interactive stations, some key events throughout the day, and some meet & greets with local sports personalities. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and is free to the public with an RSVP.

Exhibitors at the event will include Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Mammoth, Next Level Sports Performance, Canvas Credit Union, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Positive Coaching Alliance, among others.

Key events at the expo will include a basketball and volleyball clinic, a resiliency workshop with US Olympic and Paralympic athletes, a speed camp with Next Level Sports Performance, and a dance clinic with Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. Key events require a separate RSVP.

“We’re thrilled to host our first Healthy Kids Expo to show the youth in our community that being active and focusing on health can be fun,” said GCF CEO, Bill Hanzlik. “We have an incredible lineup for the event and have a lot of local experts and signature community partners running stations.”

The Healthy Kids Expo has an emphasis on physical activity, but there are also numerous exhibitors focused on the mental health of youth. Attendees will learn coping techniques, engage in mindfulness activities and walk away with a new skill set surrounding the mental health of themselves and others.
