C2C Pathways: New Partnerships for 2020-2021

It's a new year for C2C Pathways to Success and the new class has been busy. The Clubhouse to College/Career Program strives to reach youth in our communities and provide them with opportunities for success in college, career, and life. This year, we are excited to be working with the national organization, Project Invent, to bring engineering right to the forefront of our hands-on learning experience in C2C. A select group of students will be actively participating in the design and engineering process as guided by Project Invent, all while helping their community and enacting change in the lives of others.

We are also excited to announce that we will be working with Jefferson County Schools Adapted P.E., to address their needs oriented around adapted physical education equipment for students with disabilities. The foundation has worked closely with Jeffco Adapted P.E. over the years as they have used the Gold Crown Field House and Keli McGregor Field at Coca Cola All-Star Park for many of their programs (free of charge). The initial meetings were conducted via Zoom in true 2020 form, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead!

Project Invent will guide students as they partake in this engineering challenge, from helping bolster interview skills to guiding a path toward need finding, and to finally a completed invention that serves our community and beyond. Project Invent concludes in April with Demo Day, where real industry experts evaluate and provide feedback about out students' invention.

This opportunity is fantastic for our youth wherein they will develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills, learn the engineering design process, make and create relationships with empathy, and have fun while making a difference in the lives of others.

We will keep you updated as the class progresses through Phase I.
